In collaboration with the UK College of Engineering, College of Design, MG-CAFE', and the Kentucky Department of Forestry, the Wood Utilization Center is leading the way with hardwood mass timber construction and large innovative wooden buildings.  The Wood Utilization Center is a mass timber building constructed in 1960 with glulam beams.  Mass timber materials like cross-laminated timber panels and glulam beams have great local and regional economic potential while improving the health and sustainability of construction.  To date, we have facilitated two regional conferences with over 100 attendees at each.
